PURPOSE:To prevent theft of an on-vehicle acoustic appliance by causing said appliance to operate only when a controller is inserted into a socket of said appliance and a code number and a collating number are coincident. CONSTITUTION:When a controller 1 is inserted into a socket 11 of an on-vehicle acoustic appliance 10, a switch 5 of a controller 1 and a switch 12 of the appliance 10 are closed and operated, and the controller 1 transmits from a data output means 7 composed of light emitting elements of the code number of a memory means 4 and station selecting data to a data input means 13 composed of the photodetecting element, etc., of the appliance 10. When the appliance 10 is stolen, the controller 1 does not exist, and therefore, the coincident signal cannot be obtained from an identifying means 15, and the appliance 10 cannot be operated. Even when the appliance 10 and the controller 1 are simultaneously stolen, the memory of the collating number will disappear and the appliance 10 cannot be operated since the voltage of an identifying means 15 is cut off at the time of stealing.
