The invention relates to a parking meter which has a clock arranged in a motor vehicle and having a start-and-stop device as well as a parking-time summing circuit with a parking-time indicator which can be read off outside the motor vehicle. Moreover, it has a store and a writing device for the documentation of information on data carriers, especially a magnetic-card writer.
