PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high sensitivity and free of fading and whitening of recorded pictures even when being in contact with oils and plasticizer by using a specific compound as a developer and zinc silicate as a filler. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material utilizing color developing reactions between a leuco dye and a developer, as the developer, a compound of the formula (I), where X is halogen, Y is SO2 or -C(CH3)2-, m is 1 or 2, and X of left- and right-handed benzene rings should be substituted at the symmetrical positions to Y. As a filler, zinc silicate is used. The combined use of the compound of the formula (I) and the filler can bring forth excellent head matching property and highly reliable pictures for the thermal recording material, although the compound itself has a capability of lessening the fading of pictures by oil and plasticizer. |
