<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the driver of a pursued vehicle from having a suspicious feeling or an unpleasant feeling. CONSTITUTION:When the driver of a vehicle desires to follow a preceding vehicle, at first, the driver selects a following mode selecting switch 13 to send a request to a signal processor 22 to the effect that he desires following running through a signal processor 14, a laser radar device 15 and the laser radar device 21 of the preceding vehicle 20 in order to ask permission. The request is shown on a display device 23 in the preceding vehicle, and the driver operates a selection switch 24 depending on a decision. The selected result is transmitted to the signal processor 14 through the signal processor 22, the laser radar device 21 and the laser radar device 15 of the following vehicle 10 to set a following running controller 11 to an operative state only when the request is permitted.</p> |
