PURPOSE:To enable the measurement of a safe gap, by rotating a handle of a worm-gear type micro-feeder attached to the bottom of a shaft of the lower vessel and adjusting a gap between flanges of upper and lower vessels to the uniform dimension on the periphery. CONSTITUTION:The lower vessel 1 is constructed integrally with a downward extending shaft and the extreme bottom end is shaped into a precision screw 10 available for micro-feed by rotation of a worm-type micro-feeder handle 11. And, in this case, a gap between upper vessel 2 and lower vessel 1 flange surfaces are set with a constant dimension all along the periphery. Then, a specimen gas sealed in the vessel is ignited into explosion. By repeating this process, the largest possible gap dimension in which fire produced inside the vessels 1 and 2 would not ignite the gas located inside and outside vessel 4 is measured assuming it as the safe gap of this specimen gas. By means of this arrangement, the safe gap can easily be measured. |
