Apparatus for applying a food spread such as garlic butter to a bread product such as a break stick which has been slit transversely including a spread dispensing head having a plurality of outlet nozzles adapted to be aligned with respective slit portions of the bread stick and arcuate support means disposed beneath the dispensing head which is arranged in use to support the bread stick in such a fashion that the slit portions thereof are opened so as to facilitate receipt of garlic butter or other spread from the dispensing head.
