Electroheological liquid is used for mechanical fixing of electrical, electronic, electromechanical and/or mechanical components in a carrier vehicle which exposed to high acceleration forces. An electrical field is applied to the liquid during one or different acceleration phases. The protected components (12) are arranged in a closed container (13) filled with the liquid and with mutually isolated electrodes (15,16) mounted on opposing walls. The electrodes are supplied with electrical energy producing a voltage difference during the acceleration phase. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g to protect components in shells fired from weapons without affecting their operation after acceleration phase.
