PURPOSE:To provide a vinyl chloride resin coating compsn. for metal, which has improved heat resistance, by blending metallic soap or a metal chelate compd. and an epoxy resin with a solvent-soluble vinyl chloride resin contg. carboxyl groups. CONSTITUTION:A coating compsn. is obtd. by blending 0.00001-10pts.wt. metallic soap or metal chelate compd. (A), 1-100pts.wt. epoxy resin (B) and optionally not more than 60pts.wt. amino resin with 100pts.wt. solvent-soluble vinyl chloride resin (C) contg. carboxyl groups. It is desirable that the metallic soap or the metal chelate compd. are precondensated at 10-160 deg.C for 40-80min. The metallic soap or the metal chelate compd. acts as a crosslinking agent for carboxyl groups in the vinyl chloride resin and the epoxy resin. |
