The subject of the invention is a device for checking that the cold chain is maintained at a temperature less than 0 DEG C for a frozen product, in particular a food product, characterised in that it essentially consists of a hydrophilic material which is compatible with the planned application, provided with a substance or a combination of substances which are compatible with the planned application and capable of being converted visibly and irreversibly in the presence of humidity. This device is preferably made from unleavened bread provided with a design consisting of at least two food colorants and which, in the presence of humidity, is converted, in particular with a different coloration. Application to checking that the cold chain for frozen products is maintained.
