PURPOSE:To enable to mold even a molded article having complicated irregular form, by a method wherein a cavity is filled with a foaming-agent-filled synthetic resin pellet having specific volume which is the same as apparent specific volume and is foam-molded by heating. CONSTITUTION:The skin 1 and an insert 3 are loaded within a molding tool 4 and a cavity 6 forming a soft foamed layer 2 between them is filled with a pellet 2a. When melt and foam molding is performed by raising the temperature up to the level wherein the pellet 2a starts forming by actuating a heater provided with the molding tool 4, then as for the pellet 2a, as apparent specific volume of the same to be obtained by melting and foaming is the same or about the same as that anterior to the melting and forming, the whole of cavity 6 which surves as the soft foamed layer 2 is filled up with the pellet 2a posterior to the melting and foaming. Therefore, when this molded article is released from the molding tool 4 after cooling, an instrument panel in three-storied structure is formed. |
