<p>The transport system uses a number of unsupervised vehicles (60) guided along a given transport path. Each vehicle (60) has a distance recorder which is indexed during movement of the vehicle along each section (52,53) of the transport path defined between two reference points. A marker (80) at each reference point cooperates with marker button (78) carried by the vehicle (60) to provide a corresponding signal used to reset the distance recorder to zero. The motion of the vehicles (60) is pref. controlled from a central control point (55) coupled to each vehicle (60) via a remote-control link to provide signals designating the required travel length along each path section.</p> |
