The endoprosthesis comprises a femoral part 10 consisting of at least one metal part in the form of a curved block which can be inserted in a condyle and a tibial part 14 comprising a friction-resistant plastic plate carried by a metal support provided, on its lower face, with a relief 20, 22 intended to increase the sealing surface on a plate formed by the tibia by excision of bone. The plastic plate 16 comprises a lower projection occupying the greater part of the cross-section of the plate, widening towards the bottom, immobilised permanently in a corresponding cavity 30 in the metal support 18. <IMAGE>
