The package is composed of an integral blank and has a floor (1), side walls (2, 3) which are connected by means of connecting tongues (5), and lid flaps (7a, 7b) which are connected to two opposite side walls (3) and are laid inwards, one on top of the other. Two opposite walls (2) project beyond the lid flaps, and the outer lid flap (7a) is locked in slots (8) of the said walls. The package is made of fine corrugated cardboard and therefore provides good heat insulation for the contents. It has a foodstuff-compatible layer on the inside. It is of simple design, is easy to manufacture and handle and is especially well suited for packaging portions of foodstuffs, such as ice cream, margarine and the like. A plastic lid may also be connected to a lid flap. <IMAGE>
