A b s t r a c t: In order to make a roofing construction leak proof it is provided with a layer containing hydrophilic polymers and/or known inorganic viscosity-increasing and/or gel-forming hydrophilic substances. The layer may be incorporated the construction in the form of a membrane or a coating or it may be distributed as a powder. Due to this layer the roofing construction will become self-plugging.
