The rolling mill according to the invention comprises a table 2a, which is designed to be driven to rotation about a vertical axis 10. The table is designed to receive the material that is to be milled in a central area about the axis 10. The table 2a has a horizontal upward facing surface with an annular groove 4a along the edge. The groove has a curved base surface. There is at least one roller 6a, the axis of rotation 20 of which is situated above the surface of the table and intersects the axis 10 of the table. The roller 6a goes down into the groove 4a and rotates therein. The roller has an outer peripheral surface 18 with curved cross-section. When the mill is in use, the table and the roller rotate, and the material that is to be milled moves into the clearance 16 between the peripheral surface 18 of the roller and the base surface of the groove 4a. The table 2a has an annular rise 24 on its upward facing surface at the outer edge of the groove for braking the movement of the material that emerges from the clearance 16. <IMAGE>
