The invention relates to a method for readjusting an infrared gas analyser, in which spatially separated cuvettes for the measurement beam and the reference beam are provided, upstream of which cuvettes there is a chopper for the equal-phase or antiphase interruption of the measuring beam and reference beam. The measuring cuvette is charged with a gas which does not absorb the infrared rays, and during said charging time a calibration cuvette filled with a non-absorbing gas is first pushed into each beam path, in order to define the zero point; in order to define the sensitivity, the non-absorbing calibration cuvette in the measuring beam path is then replaced by a calibration cuvette which is filled with the test gas or a gas having similar absorption characteristics.
