PURPOSE:To effectively operate a switching power source at AC current flowing time by inoperating the inverter of a controller from AC current flowing time until the output of a constant-voltage circuit arrives at the prescribed value to maintain a switching circuit ON. CONSTITUTION:When an AC power source is turned ON, full-wave rectified output is applied by a rectifier DB to a transistor Q1. When the output of a constant-voltage circuit 1 arrives at the operating voltage of an inverter I1, the inverter I1 operates. In this case, since the output of a starter 4 is connected to the output of the inverter I1, the output of the inverter I1 is forcibly reduced to a low level to maintain a transistor Q3 OFF and the transistor Q1 ON. Accordingly, the operation of the inverter I1 and the transistors Q1, Q3 is not repeated to continue rising the output of a transistor Q2.
