PURPOSE:To prevent electric parts from being corroded with rain water or electrolyte by locating the electric parts in a recessed area formed on the upper surface of a battery casing and between two terminals and installing partition walls continuous with the battery casing between the electric parts and the battery terminals. CONSTITUTION:A recessed area 4 is formed on one side area of the upper surface of a lid 3 for a battery casing. Recessed areas 5 are formed on both sides of the recessed area 4 through the partition walls 6 of the lid 3. Battery terminals 7a and 7b are placed in the recessed areas 5. The bottom level of the recessed area 4 is higher than those of the recessed areas 5 so that rain water or electrolyte staying near the terminals does not flow into the recessed area 4. A starter magnetic switch 2 is fitted in the recessed area 4. Therefore, it is not necessary to specially secure a space for the switch 2 in addition to a space for the battery, thereby facilitating laying out other parts attached to the engine. |
