The present invention relates to an apparatus for diagnosing a growth plate to diagnose whether the growth plate is abnormal in a bone density measuring device. The present invention provides an apparatus for diagnosing a growth plate and a method using the same. The apparatus includes an evaluation information generating part which generates evaluation information including profile data on the bond density image of the peripheral region of the growth plate; and a growth diagnosing part which determines whether the growth plate is abnormal based on the evaluation information generated by the evaluation information generating part. So, the efficiency of diagnosing the growth plate can be improved.
