PURPOSE:To retrieve a recording position optionally in a short time by providing plural recordable magnetic recording media, plural pieces of recording position information, and a recording control means. CONSTITUTION:The recording control means 117 make contents of pieces of information at recording positions different and relates them with plural information groups 111A and 111B respectively. Therefore, plural pieces of recording position information 115A and 115B can be discriminated from each other, so a recording state in which recording positions on the magnetic medium 113 are retrieved conveniently is obtained. Information data should be supplied to the 4th input signal terminal as setting data indicating an optional recording position dx and stored in a memory M0 before recording. Different queue signals are recorded at head parts of respective recording programs to the overall length of a magnetic tape 411 of one reel by said control operation to select each program. Consequently, recording positions are retrieved optionally and accurately in a short time.
