This device has a base which exhibits a concave cylindrical sliding surface. At the bottom of the display device, a skid is mounted which is seated on this sliding surface and can be displaced with respect to the latter. The invention is intended to create a tilting device which consists of parts which are simple to produce and which can be rapidly assembled. For this purpose, slots (13, 14) extending in the circumferential direction are applied to the sliding surface of the skid (4), which are engaged and locked into by snapping springs (18, 18'). The main field of application of the invention are alphanumeric or graphic display devices.
