PURPOSE:The titled copolymer which can give a vulcanizate excellent in heat resistance, solvent resistance, weather resistance, ultraviolet ray resistance, O3 resistance, low-temperature properties, rubbery properties, etc., obtained by modifying a specified ethylene copolymer with an unsaturated amine or an unsaturated alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The titled copolymer of a MI of 0.01-1,000g/10min is obtained by modifying an ethylene copolymer consisting of 50-94.9mol% unit (a) derived from ethylene of formula I, 45-5mol% unit (b) of formula II [wherein R1 is H or CH3, X is one of the groups of formulas III-V [wherein R2-3 are each a 1-10C alkyl, R4 is a 1-4C alkylene and R5 is a 1-4C (alkoxy)alkyl], and 5-0.1mol% total of units in (c) in a form derived by dicarboxylating or monoesterifying part or all of units derived from acid anhydride group- containing radical-polymerizable monomer of formula VI, VII or the like formula with 0.2-5.0mol, per mol of component (c), of a modifier comprising an unsaturated amine or unsaturated alcohol having at least one C=C double bond other than an aromatic double bond. If desired, this copolymer is vulcanized with at least one vulcanizer selected from among sulfur, a sulfur donor and a peroxide.
