PURPOSE:To enable detection of bearings causing unstable vibrations in a rotary machine by deriving coefficients through processing data obtained from acceleration sensors attached at each bearing in two radial directions intersecting each other at right angles. CONSTITUTION:When an area encircled by a rotary locus is S, bearings having greater products or coefficients (S.pi) using the pi shown in the equation have higher possibility of causing unstable vibrations. Accelerations measured with acceleration sensors mounted at each bearing in radial Z directions intersecting at right angles each other are passed through a filter for removing noises and calculated through an integral circuit for obtaining displacements. At the same time, phase between X-axis and Y-axis displacements is derived. From the displacements and phase obtained, a value of Si is derived. A value pii is also derived from an equation. A coefficient Sipii is then derived by multiplying calculated Si by pii. The coefficient Sipii is obtained for each bearing and displayed so that a bearing causing the maximum value can be found out.
