PURPOSE:To secure a proper swirl in the whole running range of an engine as well as to improve its suction inertia, by opening one suction passage at the time of high speed, while making the length of a suction pipe in the other suction passage variable according to the engine speed, in case of the engine provided with two suction valves at each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A suction passage, installing two suction valves at one cylinder and installing each independent suction passage as well as forming a high swirl, is interconnected to a port 3 having a normally operating suction valve, and in addition, a valve mechanism, installing a clutch 32 to couple the other suction passage with a rocker arm 37 only at the time of high speed, is also interconnected to the port. The normally operated suction passage is provided with a suction system installing a long suction passage 75 from a manifold 72 and another suction system of a short suction passage to be formed at the time of opening a valve 71 to bypass the system. The valve 71 is opened when an arm 80 is rotated by a mechanism 18 to be operated according to an engine speed and an engine rotates at high speed. The normally operated suction port 3 forms a high swirl. |
