PURPOSE:To coat a grooved and a notched part and to perform coating efficiently by transferring relatively a brush while bringing it into contact with the surface of a material to be coated and feeding paint to a prescribed position of the front part of the brush. CONSTITUTION:In relation to an apparatus performing the automatic coating for a material to be coated, the fixed members 27 having the brushes 26 to the tips thereof are perforated by a brush holding rod 25 and the brushes 26 are positioned so that these are brought into contact with a groove 11 and the notches 12, 13 of a sheet member 10. The paint tanks 28 are held on the upper parts of the parallel columns 22 and the feed hoses 30 are elongated from the tanks 28 and the tips thereof are set to the neighborhood of the tips of the brushes 26 and paint is fed to a prescribed position of the front part of the transferring direction. The brush-main bodies are turned around the pivoting axes and simultaneously the sheet member 10 is transferred. In such a way, the coating of the grooved and the notched parts of the surface of the material to be coated can be performed and the highly efficient coating is performed.
