PURPOSE:To obtain the ink jet printer of multi-purposes which can record high-quality characters at a high speed from a color picture recording, by a method wherein a more number of orifices are arranged in the sub-scanning direction for one orifice group among plural orifice groups than those for the other orifice groups. CONSTITUTION:The orifice group for yellow 6Y, the orifice group for magenta 6M, the orifice group for cyan 6C, and the orifice group for black 6B are arranged in this order in the principal scanning direction by a recording head 6. Respectively orifices 11, 12, 13, 14 in the sub-scanning direction are arranged on the same axes as corresponding orifices in the horizontal direction. Further, they correspond to 4 dot contents in the columnar direction of recording picture element. A for the orifice group for black 6B, further, four orifices 15, 16, 17, 18 are arranged at the same interval as that for orifices 11-14 in the same row as respective orifices 11, 12, 13, 14 in the sub-scanning direction thus vertically arranged. When a character is printed with black ink, it can be printed at a recording speed of two times conventional speed by using the orifice group for black 11-18. |
