PURPOSE:To form easily a zinc diffused layer on the surface of liquid passage materials at a low cost and to improve the corrosion resistance of a heat exchanger by depositing a brazing filler metal contg. a specific amt. of zinc to the liquid passage materials, heating the same and brazing fins thereto. CONSTITUTION:The brazing filler metal 3 contg. 0.5-10% Zn is deposited on the surface of the liquid passage materials 1 of the heat exchanger in which liquid is passed in the stage of joining the fins 2 to the outside surface of the materials 1. The metal 3 is then heated to braze the materials 1 and the fins 2. The zinc diffused layers 5 are thus formed on the surface of the liquid passage materials by which the corrosion resistance thereof is improved.
