PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence of the chromatic aberration of a rod lens and to produce easily an optical multiplexer and demultiplexer which decreases the crosstalks between wavelengths by slanting the top end of an optical fiber array, bringing an interference film filter into tight contact with part of the sloped top end face and bringing the same via a transparent body piece into contact with the rod lens. CONSTITUTION:The light of the wavelength lambda1 emitted from an optical fiber 9a is converted by the rod lens 13 to parallel rays which are reflected by the interference film filter 14 for reflecting the light of the wavelength lambda1. The reflected rays are again condensed by the lens 13 and are made incident on an optical fiber 9b. The filter 14 allows the transmission of the light of the wavelength lambda2 but about 10% thereof is reflected by the filter. The interference film filter 12 which allows the transmission of the light of the wavelength lambda1 and reflects the light of the wavelength lambda2 is adhered to the end face of the fiber 9b to prevent the incidence of the reflected light of the wavelength lambda2 on the fiber 9b. The light of the wavelength lambda2 emitted from the fiber 9b is again converted by the lens 13 to the parallel rays which transmit the fiber 14, are reflected by a reflecting mirror 15, are condensed again by the lens 13 and are made incident an optical fiber 9c. |
