PURPOSE:To attain uniform ionization to a high ionization density by ionizing powder of oyster shells heated to a prescribed temp. by electric discharge. CONSTITUTION:Powder 15 of oyster shells is fed into a pipe 10 and heated to about 1,100 deg.C with a heater 12. Voltage is impressed to electrodes 13, 14 to cause electric discharge, and the powder 15 is converted into ionized calcium by the electric discharge. Thus, uniformly ionized calcium having a high ionization density is obtd.
