PURPOSE:To prevent drop-out and to improve durability by permitting a magnetic layer surface to contain an unsaturated fatty acid ester and forming a liner with nonwoven fabric available from welding the partially melted polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:The unsaturated fatty acid ester is contained as a lubricant on the magnetic layers 2 and 2 of a magnetic disk. Since the unsaturated fatty acid ester holds the liquid state in a wide temperature range and shows an excellent fluid lubricity in terms of the sliding interface between the magnetic head and the magnetic layer, the wear resistance of the magnetic layer is improved. It contains polyester resin as the liner 4 provided on the inner side of a jacket, and the nonwoven fabric obtaining by welding the resin by the partial melting is used. As a result, the magnetic layer is never scrapped out, although the magnetic layer is plasticized by unsaturated polyester to be soft. Accordingly the occurrence of a particle-like or powder-like substance, which causes the drop-out from the liner and magnetic layer, can be prevented, thereby improving the durability. |
