The arrangement of the edging stands in beam rolling trains with universal roll stands is such that the edging stands have pairs of rollers which act as idle rolls, i.e. to which rotation is imparted by the rolling stock moved by other, driven rolls. These undriven rolls of the edging stand are arranged just in front or close behind the universal roll stands, if required in the region of the section guides of the said stands, and are preferably firmly connected to the housings of the universal stands.
