PURPOSE:To stabilize triboelectrification amt. between toner particles themselves and between the toner and a toner bearing body and to render a distribution of triboelectrification amt. uniform by incorporating a binder resin, a colorant, and a chelate compd. of a specified aminocarboxylic acid in a toner. CONSTITUTION:In chelate compd. of an aminocarboxylic acid is represented by the formula shown on the right in which R1, R2, R4, R5 are each H, halogen nitro, amino, 1-16C alkyl, or sulfamoyl, R1 and R2, R4 and R5 may form a ring; R3, R6 are each H, 1-9C alkyl, benzyl, or phenol; and M is a divalent metal atom, such as Ni, Co, Zn, or Cu. This compd. is mixed with a binder resin, and a colorant, and this fine toner powder is mixed with an iron powder carrier, and it is used for developing an electrophotographic latent image, thus permitting the obtained toner to be uniform in a distribution of triboelec trification amt. and a latent image to be stably developed. |
