PURPOSE:To simplify the titled device and reduce the cost of the device, by a construction wherein a part of a paper presence/absence detecting means and a part of a cover open/closed state detecting means are disposed adjacent to each other, and a printing stopping controlling means is used in common for both means. CONSTITUTION:Where a cover 5 is open and a paper 9 is not present, both of a paper presence/absence detecting lever 2 and a cover open/closed state detecting lever 1 shield a light-detecting part of a photo-interrupter 4, so that printing is not conducted. Where the cover 5 is closed but the paper 9 is absent, the lever 2 shields the light-detecting part of the photo-interrupter 4, so that printing is not conducted. Where the paper 9 is present but the cover 5 is open, the lever 1 interrupts the light-detecting part of the photo-interrupter 4, so that printing is not conducted. Where the cover 5 is closed and the paper 9 is present, none of the lever 2 and the lever 1 interrupt the light-detecting part of the photo-interrupter 4, so that printing can be conducted. Accordingly, it is possible to simplify the device, reduce the cost and facilitate assembly and repair of the device. |
