The method is for removing an existing aged rectangular main frame(1) from a window opening in a building wall(2) for replacement by a new one. It comprises separating the outer frame into at least two frame sections so that each of the four frame corners (1a-d) is separated from one of an adjacent pair of frames(5,6) and remains to be continuous with the other frame(3,4). This is followed by removing the separated frame sections of the outer frame one after another from the building wall by pulling each frame section inward from the window opening.
