The retractable barrier consists of a case which contains, on the inside, a bow-shaped bar forming a barrier 3, the ends of which are articulated on pins 7 mounted on articulation plates 8 firmly attached to the bottom of the case 2, these ends interacting with hooks 10 articulated on pins 12 firmly attached to the plates 8 and connected to a counterweight at their opposite ends to the tooth for locking the ends of the bow-shaped bar 3 when the latter is in the vertical position, the counterweight is then controlled by a pedal 14 facilitating the withdrawal of the hooks 10 from the ends of the bow-shaped bar 3 in order to turn down the latter, and finally, either in the lowered position of the barrier, or in the raised position of the barrier, a main plate 6 closes the upper rear part of the case interacting with plates 20, 21 fixed to the arms of the bow-shaped bar 3 and a fixed plate 22 placed at the upper front end of the case 2. <IMAGE>
