The invention relates to an angular ball bearing with an inner race and an outer race, each of which has a respective ball groove between which a ring of balls rolls, the ball groove of each race being bounded on one side by a high rim and on the opposite side by a low rim, which angular ball bearing is provided at least at one axial end with a seal which comprises a rigid sealing-lip carrier and a flexible sealing lip, the seal being secured on one race in the region of the rim and the sealing lip interacting with a sealing surface on the rim of the other race. At least on one, sealed side of the angular ball bearing, the rim (7, 10) having the sealing surface (17, 18) is provided with a stop (19, 20, 21) which overlaps radially with the sealing-lip carrier (13, 14), the mutually facing surfaces of the stop (19, 20, 21), on the one hand, and of the sealing-lip carrier (13, 14), on the other hand, being arranged at an axial distance from one another which is less than the axial clearance of the angular ball bearing. <IMAGE>
