The rectangular waves from an unstable multivibrator (1) are divided in a divider (3) and amplified in a Darlington circuit (5). They are stepped-up in a transformer (6) for supplying high impulse voltage to the output of a main transformer (8) so that the breakdown discharge phenomenon generating just before contacting with a matrix material (10) and an welding pole (9) is induced to the arc discharge for arc welding.
