PURPOSE:To obtain easily Type I aluminium dihydrogen tripoly-phosphate of high purity without generating by-products by mixing specific proportion of P2O5 with oxide of Al or hydrated oxide of Al, hydrating the P2O5 to contain specified proportion of H2O, then heating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:P2O5 and Al oxide or hydrated oxide of Al are mixed in 1.5-10 molar ratio of P2O5/Al2O3,and P2O5 is hydrated to contain 0.5-40% water, then the mixture is heated at 200-500 deg.C. For example, O' type P2O5 and alpha-alumina are weighed in 3 molar ratio of P2O5/Al2O3 and the mixture is mixed in CCl4; then, the CCl4 is removed by evacuating the mixture. The mixture is charged in a desiccator to humidity the P2O5. The humidified mixture is sealed in a glass tube and heat-treated for 24hr.
