PURPOSE:To make an information recording medium contact a head means in optimum state with sliding by providing a regulating body having a pair of regulating parts at the upstream and downstream sides of the head means and a second regulating body at the upstream side. CONSTITUTION:Pressure contact is controlled by two regulating parts 310, 320 of an upper pad 300 so that a recording surface 110 of a magnetic disk 100 is in optimum sliding contact with a head gap part 210 of a magnetic head 200. When the magnetic disk 100 is driven into rotation at a faster speed (for example, 3,600rpm) in the direction shown, the vibrations are produced in the magnetic disk 100 in which the main component is perpendicular to the main surface so that the recording and reproducing characteristics are markedly deteriorated. However, because the lower pad 400 is provided, the above vibrations are effectively suppressed by the regulating part 410. Therefore, during high speed rotation of the magnetic disk 100, an optimum sliding contact between the magnetic disk 100 and the magnetic disk 200 is maintained at all times to assure an optimum recording and reproducing properties.
