Safety device for a mixing tap in which the drive head 14, which can move rotationally, has a circumferential slot 30 through which all or part of the two adjacent variously coloured zones are visible, situated on a fixed roller 25 arranged under the said head, the sides of the surface-area of the coloured zones which can be seen through the said slot being proportional to the quantity of hot water and cold water which pass through the tap when it is open. <IMAGE>
