PURPOSE:To measure fine variation on the surface of a ribbon type magnetic body by arranging a magnetic generator at one side in the thickness direction of the ribbon type magnetic body and a magnetic sensor on the other side, and moving the ribbon type magnetic body between the magnetic generator and magnetic sensor. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic generator 2, the magnetic sensor 3, a measurement table 4, a magnetic measuring instrument 5, a moving mechanism 6, etc., are provided. Then, the generator 2 is set and a sample 1 is placed on the table 4 at a specific position; and a moving table 63 is returned to the position of a graduation '0' and the sample 1 is fixed to one terminal. The measuring instrument 5, a constant voltage power source 74, and a recorder 8 are powered on and then a handle 72 is rotated to move the table 63, i.e. sample 1. Then, a potentiometer 71 is supplied with a specific DC constant voltage from the power source 74 through a resistance 73 to obtain a voltage signal corresponding to the movement extent of a moving body 63. Then, the recorder 8 receives voltage signals from the meter 71 and measuring instrument 5 to draw a graph between the movement extent of the sample 1 on the X axis and magnetic field intensity on the Y axis.
