PURPOSE:To effectively correct a DIP and a SPIKE by detecting an abnormal output level and the position thereof to white and black at the output of a CCD and correcting the read signal of the CCD by using this detected output. CONSTITUTION:An analog video signal by a CCD 1 is amplified by an amplifier 2 and is inputted to an A/D converter 3. A signal that is digitized at the A/D converter 3 is inputted to a DIP (an abnormal output to the direction of the black) and a SPIKE (the abnormal output to the direction of the white) corrector 4. The corrector 4 consists of a means that detects and stores the level and the position of the abnormal output to the white and the black directions at the output of the CCD and a means that detects and corrects by using this stored output, the read signal of a video information by the CCD when it is read and the DIP and the SPIKE are corrected effectively in the output of the CCD.
