PURPOSE:To enable the selective agglutination of B-cell to the surface of a solid having a polyurethane surface containing fluorine-containing segment, and to separate lymphocyte effectively, by using the solid as a material for the separation of lymphocyte, and contacting the solid with a liquid containing lymphocyte. CONSTITUTION:A solid having a polyurethane surface having fluorine-containing segment (abbreviated as FPU) preferably e.g. the compound of formula [R<1> and R<2> are 2-6C alkylene; l is integer of 2-8; m is integer to give a group of formula (R<1>O)m having a molecular weight of about 1,200-3,000; n is integer of 1-3] is made to contact with a liquid containing lymphocyte. The B-cell is agglutinated to the solid surface leaving the lymphocyte, which is separated from the system. The contact is carried out by passing the lymphocyte- containing liquid through a column packed with said solid. The recovery of T-cell is more than twice as high as that of the separation process using a nylon fiber. The separation material produced by this process is useful for the diagnosis, remedy and research of immune disease, cancer, etc. |
