PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous operation in program searching by providing a device that judges correctness of detected address data separately from a device that judges coincidence with designated address. CONSTITUTION:A user can set address data of recorded information for which he desires head taking out to an address designating device. Period of output of a coincidence judging circuit 5 and a difference detecting circuit 14 is set properly, and a monostable multivibrator 9 is triggered only when detected address data coincide with designated address data, and difference between normal address data immediately before and detected address data is a specified value. Head taking out operation is completed by detecting output of the monostable multivibrator 9 by a system controlling circuit 7 and setting VTR to the state of reproducing. Thus, erroneous operation in program searching due to erroneous detection of address data at the time of retrieving can be prevented.
