PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool suitable for being used mainly in the other side machine tool among counter spindle type machine tools, and easily controllable at a lower cost by optimally arresting mobile flexibility for both a spindle stock and a turret lathe each other. SOLUTION: The other side machine tool 50 of the counter spindle type machine tool 10 includes a Z-X moving bed 60 movable in both Z-axial and X-axial directions on a mount base 1a, a turret lathe 70 placed on the Z-X moving bed 60, and a spindle stock 80 faced in the same direction as the turret lathe 70 installed on the moving bed and capable of reciprocating in a Z-axial direction relatively to the lathe. As an interaction-proof means for optionally allowing the Z-axial intersection of the spindle stock relative to a turret head 72 on the turret lathe, the nearly fan-shaped turret head 72 with a notch 72b is provided on the turret lathe.
