PURPOSE:To provide a plasminogen activator produced by malignant lymphoma cell strain RC-K8, useful as a thrombolytic agent for the remedy of myocardial infarction, cerebral thrombosis, etc., and having stabilized price. CONSTITUTION:A plasminogen activator is produced from the malignant lymphoma cell strain RC-K8 established from malignant lymphoma cell, having 14q+ karyotype constituting the chromosome, and having the B cell (B1) and monocyte/macrophage (S-100 protein alpha-subunit in cytoplasm) label. Plasminogen activator is an enzyme capable of converting plasmin to a fibrinolytic plasmin. Urokinase produced from urine or from cultured renal cell is used as the plasminogen activator at present, however, there are many problems for the mass-production of the urokinase. Since the cell strain RC-K8 secretes a large amount of urokinase-type plasmin activator, a thrombolytic agent having stabilized price can be produced therefrom.
