NEW MATERIAL:A quinolonecarboxylic acid compound shown by the formula I (R is H, or lower alkyl; X is halogen). EXAMPLE:N-(3-Chloro-4-fluorophenyl)acetamide. USE:An intermediate for producing 8-chloro-1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-7-(4 or 3-methyl-1-piperazinyl or unsubstituted 1-piperazinyl)-4-oxo-3- quinolinecarboxylic acid, etc. PREPARATION:A compound shown by the formula II (R<1> is lower alkyl) is reacted with an alkyl orthoformate to give a compound shown by the formula III (R<2> is lower alkyl), which is reacted with cyclopropylamine to give a compound shown by the formula IV, which is subjected to ring formation to give a compound shown by the formula I where R is lower alkyl, which is further hydrolyzed to give a compound shown by the formula I where R is H. |
