<p>A waste chute is formed by a hopper (1) placed over the opening of a waste container. Waste is tipped onto a sloping surface (2) in the hopper and having an opening (3) in its lower portion. A flap (16) in the hopper is pivotable between two positions by an e electric switching signal. - The signal is generated by an inductive-type probe (4) with associated evaluation logic, to sense item passage along the chute. The signal controls an electric drive motor (17) for the flap, causing it to either block or uncover the chute opening.</p> |
