PURPOSE:To stop composite copying operation when copying paper is in a wrong direction by inhibiting copying operation if the lengthwise length of the copying paper in its conveyance direction is shorter than the breadthwide length when two originals are copied on one surface of one sheet of copying paper together. CONSTITUTION:A decision on a composition flag F1 is made. When it is decided that a composite copy (F1='1') is taken, it is decided whether or not copying paper selected next is placed longitudinally. When it is placed laterally, that is displayed and a return key is hit. The direction of the placed copying paper is detected by using a copying paper size code stored in the RAM of the 1st CPU 6. Consequently, the copying operation is inhibited when the copying paper isplaced laterally in composite copy mode. |
