In order to simplify the changing or adding of coolant especially in motor vehicle cooling systems. As soon as coolant is drawn off an automatic minus temperature measurement is associated with this. On the basis of the displayed measurement it can be immediately decided how much fresh coolant has to be added. If topping up is not necessary the coolant already drawn off is forced back in to the reservoir of the cooling system.
